I guess I haven't lost since the game isn't over

I used to smoke and drink on a very frequent basis.  I won't lie, there were definitely times it was a blast but also times that it sucked and were painful.  Eventually I wised up and stopped both and have since reaped the innumerable benefits.

I don't even consider the thought of a cigarette anymore, or I should say I don't even imagine myself in some optimum cigarette smoking situation.  I used to really like having one on 2nd Ave, in late May after work, conveniently outside my local bar.  I will never be able to spell conveniently or a derivitive of it, ever, without looking it up.  Words with IE's nestled in them really throw me for a loop but that's another blog...

A warm May evening, the sun still considerably high in the sky, passersby enjoying a coat-less walk... okay, well, if I had to pick a perfect cigarette situation that would be it but i am not interested.

I still have glass of wine situations that interest me but they are less ordinary and more lavish, one that comes to mind is enjoying a glass of Rioja at the Marqués de Riscal hotel in Spain: http://www.starwoodhotels.com/luxury/property/photos/index.html?propertyID=1539&language=en_US

Not drinking may sound dull, insane or strange but in actuality it's not and to go a step further it's really easy and rewarding - borderline addictive.  I have such a fear of ever feeling as shitty as I would the next morning, let me reiterate, i have this enormous fear of ever feeling that shitty again that it's motivation enough.  Not the only motivation of course but nonetheless yadda yadda yadda.

I talked more about that than I had planned to... i really wanted say "I am addicted to artificial sweeteners".  Not really addicted but well yes maybe addicted...  Every day I say "today I am going to drink my coffee without any Splenda or Equal" but then when I am confronted with making my coffee dull and uninspiring, I fold like a deck of cards and rip open two packets.  Sweeten, stir, smile.

I have some OCD tendencies so I grapple back and forth between what I really enjoy "sweet delicious java" and the toxic clutches of that artificial sweetness.  Somewhere during that grapple it spirals further into something much bigger and so on.  Ain't it grand! :)

Some of that may be embelished or not...

this is funny

I havent seen all of these but i agree for the most part... Was Die Hard 3 the one with Samuel L Jackson?  That was good stuff...  Back to the future II should be LOW imo...

What this graphic is missing is the Karate Kid Franchise :(

  1. I don't agree with The Matrix meter. I don't know why people hate on Reloaded and Revolutions. Maybe they don't make sense, but I still keep hoping I'm going to understand them someday, and that in and of itself makes them better than Jurassic Park right there. I agree they were a let down after how groundbreaking the original was, but I don't think they were terrible at all. Agree on KK omission too. I noticed it right away. There are a lot more than 3 Die Hards now, I think. Here's a list of the Top Grossing Trilogies as of 2007: http://boxofficemojo.com/alltime/trilogyww.htm
