Envy, in my opinion is about as bad as it gets, it's lazy and ugly. I am not perfect nor am I immune to it. When I think about it (I can't even muster the strength to call "it" envy out of disgust), the only name that comes to mind is Julian Schnabel. I do not like him.
I do not like him because of what he does, what he has and the d-bagery style with which he does it and has it.
I could be wrong, he's probably not a d-head.
Art in my opinion is a big con to begin with, it's total bullshit. It's a racket. It's who you know and how you falaciate them. Once you're in, you can churn out shit, literally and someone will put a handsome price on it. What about most things in life aren't like that right, I'm not breaking any new ground here. Where was I?
I am not going to humor my greenishness too much but being paid nicely for your creativity, while owning homes around the world and being able to direct movies all while dressed like you dove into a teenager's dirty laundry pile circa 1993 with a velcro suit on , sure, that'd be nice.
two last things about this mofo....
Schnabel quote: "I'm the closest thing to Picasso that you'll see in this f****ing life", sure I'm just drawn into it hook, line and sinker but...
Schnabel
Picasso
And...
There's a really interesting documentary called "Hotel Gramercy Park" it's about the renovations to and stories from the Gramercy Park Hotel http://www.gramercyparkhotel.com/ . Just before the hotel is set to open Schnabel is there being himself... whatever....

Speaking of documentaries and the Art racket world, you should check out "Who the #$%& is Jackson Pollock?"

I always have so much more to say but not the energy to write it down in the time frame i'd like to, ah well...
